Then it was on to ‘Chez Nous’ at La Voyette. Greeted by a fabulous English couple running their own Cycling/B&B/Gite holidays, (https://loirevalleyleisureholidays.com). Kevin & Denise are very passionate about the Loire Valley! Please visit them if you are in the area, they will treat you like family!

Denise’s and Kevin’s place is a dream come true. The house and the garden are lovely, the surroundings are gorgouse and everything is made to make you feel comfortable and at home right away. The hosts are the cherry on top. Their compagny turn a little vacation into such an amazing stay you’ll want to go back as soon as you leave. I can only warmly recommend staying at their place.

A fantastic weekend in La Voyette. Denise and Kev are fabulous hosts who looked after us from the moment we arrived at the airport until we were safely dropped off back. Nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic food and wine- some of which we chose for ourselves on one of our wine tasting trips out with Kev. The house is warm and comfortable and was an ideal venue for our adult party of 6. Kev and Denise catered for us and the food was fabulous. We all ate and drank together, learning about France and the local area.
This is rural France as it’s best, even in February it’s a lovely area to visit.
Can’t recommend spending some time here enough.

A stylishly presented cottage in a small village of Le Grand Ballet, just a short drive away from Chinon. Kitchen was well-equipped which was important for us as we were cooking quite a lot. The owners are very nice and approachable, e.g. they helped us arranging bike rentals (bikes were already at the property when we arrived). Large garden with some equippment for the children. We had quite an active holiday – there were many safe cycling routes around the village. Albeit it was quite chilly during the nights, the heating system was working well and we were warm.

Le préau, joliment aménagé, après avoir traversé l’allée de lavande est très agréable. Même par temps couvert, on peut ainsi profiter du jardin.

La Gite at Le Grand Ballet

Very good and well-equipped gite. Hosts were very friendly and informative and when asked fir something they brought it over the next day. We particularly liked the location of the house itself as we like to walk and there are many and varied walks from the gite around the village and into the countryside.

Old Boys Jolly French Outing
This is the second time this group of old boys, who are now even older have been away for an adventure weekend. The first time when we were a lot younger saw us experience the delights of the Thames in 3 men and boat style rowing for two days, stopping at every pub we could find.
This time it was suggested we would go to France and the Loire Valley cycling and drinking wine. The reason for the Loire was not only its beauty and stunning landscape but it’s also very flat, no hills good for older boys on bikes. We were given a recommendation to call Kevin and Denise at Loire Valley Leisure Holidays, which we did and this could not have been a better weekend.
Denise and Kev are the most helpful and accommodating hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. From being picked up from the airport we were looked after and wished for nothing the whole weekend. Kev transported us and the bikes which they provided to the drop of points and then collected us when we were finished from any point we decided we had enough. For us a 25-mile bike ride with numerous stops along route to taste wine and have a leisurely lunch was by far enough.
Their accommodation and hospitality were exceptional, and Denise’s cooking was fantastic. Along with the wine that Colin provided and described we had some very enjoyable evening which lasted into the early hours.
If you are looking for a tailored made holiday, then I would suggest you contact Denise and Kev who will make sure anything you need is catered for. You will not be disappointed, and I guarantee you will be wanting to go back.

Kev and Denise have got to be the most hospitable people ever!!
The plan was vineyards (of course we are in the Loire valley) and within twenty minutes of being collected at the airport we were at our first one. Sante.
On our return from brilliantly organised days out with our very own chauffeur (Mr. Smurf) we were greeted with a glass of local wine and hors d’oeuvres followed by really good home cooking by Denise. On day three we changed our plans (only the evening before) and asked for a cycling day. Kev arrived in the morning with their bikes onboard, route planned and ready to go. We were dropped off in one village and picked up in another when we had had enough.
Kev and Denise really are the most accommodating hosts.

Très jolie maison très bien située et équipée dans une magnifique région. Prestations de qualité, surtout l’abri couvert tout proche de la maison qui est idéal pour les repas en extérieur. Propriétaires sympathiques et disponibles au besoin. Nous avons passé un séjour de rêve. Merci !
